Leon Martin Sr., 81, Former Diesel Mechanic Died Sunday

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

PARAMUS, NJ — Leon Martin Sr., of Paramus, a member of the Paramus Senior Club, died Sunday.

Before retiring, he worked as a mechanic for 38 years at Atlantic Detroit Diesel in Lodi. He was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 15.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, the Church of the Annunciation Seniors and the Paramus Senior Club.

He was predeceased by his siblings Andrew, George, Philip, Thomas, Virginia and Martine.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; children Leon and his wife Anne and Karen and her husband Douglas; grandchildren Henry and Sophie and sister Theresa.

Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Fairview Ave. in Paramus. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Visitation. Interment will be at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to his sister's ministry, Congregation of Notre Dame, 30 Highfield Road., Wilton, Conn. 06897.
