Marie DeStefano, 87, Ex President Of Paramus Pioneers

DeStefano will be remembered 'as the glue that held the family together,' her obituary states.

PARAMUS, NJ — Marie DeStefano, 87, of Paramus, the former president a local senior citizens club, died Monday.

DeStefano was the former co-owner of Barcellona's restaurant in Lodi and was the former president of the Paramus Pioneers.

She was predeceased by her granddaugther Michelle.

She is survived by her husband Andrew; son Anthony Raia, and his wife Barbara, Kenny Raia, and his wife Kathy, Lenny Raia of Lodi, and Vincent Barcelona, and his wife Beverly; sister Shirley Kemp, and her husband Martin; grandchildren Jesse, Michael, Lauren, Jenelle, Justin, Jake and Rachel; and 10 great-grandchilren.

Visitation will be at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Fairview Ave., Paramus, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Family will gather at the funeral home Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.; a memorial service will follow.

Cremation will be private.
