Big Santa Claus At Garden State Plaza Will Be Lit Tuesday

After 30 years, the wait is almost over.

PARAMUS, NJ — The kicking off of the return of the giant Santa Claus to the Westfield Garden State Plaza has been rescheduled for Tuesday.

The 45-foot-tall attraction, and its size 90 boots, will be located next to door Nordstrom and will be visible from both routes 17 and 4. The attraction will be lit up at the kick-off event on Tuesday at 4 p.m., said Paramus Mayor Richard LaBarbiera.

Attendees need to go to the parking lot outside entrance seven (adjacent to Nordstrom and Design Within Reach.) (See related: Giant Santa Claus Returns To Garden State Plaza After 30 Years)

Christmas music will be played. Food samples will be handed out and food can be purchased from several food trucks that will be there.

The Paramus High School marching band will perform at 6 p.m.; Santa Claus will stop by for a visit, and then the huge Santa Claus will be lit.

The unveiling was originally scheduled for this week, but had to be postponed due to the nor'easter that swept through North Jersey.
