Nicole Minson Of Paramus Was An 'Absolute Spark Of Joy'

PARAMUS, NJ — Funeral services for a beloved Paramus Catholic student are Thursday and Friday.

Nicole A. Minson, 17, known affectionately as "Mini Nikki," died Friday after battling cancer.

Visitation with Minson's family is Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Ave., Paramus. A funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 North Farview Ave., Paramus. Interment will be at Memories Cemetery, Washington Township.

Minson was a senior at Paramus Catholic High School, her obituary states. She was a member of the dance team.

Minson "was a creative soul. She had a passion and talent for performing arts and felt most at home on stage," the obituary states.

She "was an absolute spark of joy and had enormous strength, kindness, humor and heart. May her light forever shine."

She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church and previously attended Our Lady of the Visitation Academy elementary school.

Minson was accepted on early admission to Pace University and was planning on enrolling in the fall.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Hope & Heroes at Columbia University Medical Center online.
