Paramus Catholic's Dan Sabella Named Coach of the Year: Report

Sabella guided the Paladins to Non-Public Group 4 title by beating St. Peter's Prep 33-28 this month.

PARAMUS, N.J. — Paramus Catholic's Dan Sabella has been named The Record's coach of the year.

Sabella led the Paladins to a 10-2 season and a 33-28 Non-Public Group 4 title over St. Peter's Prep at MetLife Stadium Dec. 2, the first North Jersey large non-public school coach to win a state title in his first season in 30 years, according to The Record.

"It's a real appreciation for all the hard work and all the people involved in the process that helped put it all together," Sabella said in the report.

Sabella previously won a championship with Bogota before coming to coach the Paladins and leading them to nine straight playoff appearances, the report said.
