Paramus Catholic's Jabrill Peppers Is A Heisman Trophy Finalist
Peppers has been a standout defensive and special teams player while at the University of Michigan.

Jabrill Peppers is one of five finalists for the 2016 Heisman Trophy.
A standout player at the University of Michigan, Peppers, a junior, does not have great numbers and is the only non-offensive player nominated. The others nominees are: Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, Oklahoma receiver Dede Westbrook, and Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson. The winner will be announced Saturday at 8 p.m.
Peppers does not have big numbers, which is a testament to his versatility. He has been a kick and punt returner, linebacker, which his is primary position, safety, cornerback, running back, wide receiver, and even quarterback in the wildcat formation. He has one interception, three sacks, and 67 tackles. He also has 170 yards of offense and four touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball and as a special teams player.

Peppers has already earned several prestigious awards this season. Peppers was named the Big Ten defensive, linebacker, and return specialist of the year. He was named to the All-Big Ten defensive and special teams this year.
Peppers is also a finalist for the 2016 Jim Thorpe Award, which is given to the best defensive back in college football.

Peppers won four consecutive state group championships in high school, two for Don Bosco Prep and two for Paramus Catholic.
