Paramus Cops Say Man Had $1,500 Worth of Heroin

Paramus Police arrested an Elizabeth man Thursday on heroin related charges after allegedly finding $1,500 worth of the drug in his possession.

Jabril Cokley, 35, of Elizabeth was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg reported Friday.

Police were on patrol at Retro Fitness on Park Place when they noticed two men loitering, said the chief. Police allege that the investigation found Cokley in possession of 150 packets or 'decks' of heroin.

He was taken to the Bergen County Jail on $25,000 bail. The other man at the scene was released after the investigation, according to the Chief.

Ehrenberg said Det. Glen Pagano, Det. Tom Schroeder and officers Matt Parrello and Steve Nepola were on patrol at the gym focusing on numerous thefts to fitness clubs in the area when they noted the suspicious activity.
