Paramus School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Paramus is September 5. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Paramus Board of Education has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

September

• 9/1: Teachers Report
• 9/4: Schools Closed (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First Day of School for Students
• 9/8: Minimum Day for Students (Staff Professional Development)
• 9/21 - 9/22: Schools Closed (Rosh Hashanah)

November

• 11/7: Minimum Day for Students (Staff Professional Development)
• 11/9 - 11/10: Schools Closed (NJEA Convention)
• 11/22: Minimum Day for Students and Staff
• 11/23 - 11/24: Schools Closed (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 1/1: Schools Closed (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1: Schools Closed (Winter Recess)
• 1/15: Schools Closed for Students (Staff Professional Development)

February

• 2/16 - 2/20: Schools Closed (Winter Recess)

March

• 3/30: Schools Closed (Good Friday)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: Schools Closed (Spring Recess), Emergency Make-up Days

May

• 5/28: Schools Closed (Memorial Day)
