PARAMUS, NJ — Joseph Porcelli, 89, of Paramus died Saturday, his obituary states.
Porcelli was a driver and a shop steward for the International Long Shoremen's Union unit he retired.
He was a semi-professional boxer and Gold Gloves champion who went by the nickname "Klinkers" when he was younger.

Porcelli was always giving and concerned about others and defended the underdog, the obituary stated.
He was predeceased by his son Robert Porcelli and wife Frances.

Devoted father of Michael and his wife Suzanne. Cherished father-in-law of Elsie and her husband Joseph Spadaccini. Loving grandfather of Amie Porcelli. Dear uncle of V. Peter Traphagen and his wife Elisabeth, Jay Porcelli and his wife Jennifer and many other loving nephews and nieces.
Visitation is Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. A funeral service is Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Volk Leber. Interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
