Paramus Stew Leonard's Plans October Filled With Halloween Fun
The new Paramus store has planned an entire month filled with Halloween activities for local families.
PARAMUS, NJ – It's never too early to start celebrating Halloween.
The newly-opened Stew Leonard's in Paramus has planned an October filled with pumpkins, sweet treats and family friendly movies in honor of the spookiest day of the year.
The family-owned grocery chain, known for its farm fresh food and interactive animatronic characters opened its first-ever store in New Jersey on Sept. 18.

Its opening drew thousands of shoppers eager to check out what has been dubbed as "the Disneyland of Dairy Stores" by the New York Times. The $400 million store took the place of Paramus Park's anchor spot previously held by Sears.
Stew Leonard's is located at 700 Paramus Park, Paramus.

Pumpkin Carving
When: Oct. 5, 2019, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Pumpkin carver Lenny Calvin, former contestant on Food Network's Halloween Wars Season 6, will bewitch shoppers with his elaborate Halloween-themed carvings on the store’s pumpkins.
Pumpkin Painting Class
When: Oct. 8 and Oct. 12, 6 p.m.
A sugar pumpkin painting class will be held for children ages 3 through 12. The cost is $10 per child.
Crazy for Chocolate Toddler Class
When: Oct. 15, 9:30 a.m.
Children ages 2 through 5 can join bakery staff as they prepare some of their favorite chocolate recipes including homemade chocolate chip brownies, chocolate sugar cookies, and Nutella Oreo truffles. The cost is $10 per child.
Halloween Hay Bale Theater
When: Oct. 18 and Oct. 25, 6 p.m. (seating opens at 5:30 p.m.)
The store will host a Hay Bale Theater to show a free children’s Halloween-themed movie. Complimentary juice and popcorn will be served to all. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. For movie titles and additional information, please see in-store. All customers are asked to register for their free tickets.
Trick or Treat at Stew’s
When: Oct. 23, 4 to 5 p.m.
Children are invited to dress in their costumes and come to Stew Leonard’s to go trick or treating throughout the store. A map will be available at customer service to help find treats. To register for this free event, contact the store.
Stew Leonard’s Barkfest
When: Oct. 26, 4 p.m.
Customers may bring their pups dressed in their best Halloween costumes and enter for their chance to win a Bubba’s Barkery Gift Basket valued at $100, which contains fresh dog treats made in-house at Stew Leonard’s.To enter, customers should bring a small bag or can of dog food to be donated to a local pet shelter. A panel of Stew Leonard’s judges will announce a winner at 5 p.m. For complete rules, see in store.
Ghostly Pizza-Making Class
When: Oct. 30, 9:30 a.m.
Children age 2-5 are invited to join as Stew Leonard’s prepare Halloween-themed pizzas to cook and eat. The cost is $20 per child.
Halloween Day
When: Oct. 31
Children who come to the store in their costumes will receive a free small ice cream cup or cone.
