Toys 'R' Us Closes Last 2 Stores, Paramus Included: Reports
The Paramus store opened in 2019 as part of an effort to relaunch the brand's brick and mortar presence. It didn't last.

PARAMUS, NJ — The only two Toys R Us stores left in the U.S. will close following a 2020 derailed by the coronavirus pandemic, Bloomberg and many others report.
Tru Kids purchased the one-time retail titan in 2019, opening one brick and mortar store at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, and the other in Texas, according to a Patch report.
"As a result of Covid, we made the strategic decision to pivot our store strategy to new locations and platforms that have better traffic," Tru Kids said in a statement, published by Bloomberg. "Consumer demand in the toy category and for Toys “R” Us remains strong, and we will continue to invest in the channels where the customer wants to experience our brand."
