For Valentine’s Day, students attending Bergen County Academies in the SkillsUSA group got together to write cards for the veteran homes located in Paramus, New Jersey. This was all done virtually through an online video call to ensure the safety of all participants. Each group member made multiple online cards that were then printed and distributed to the many veterans of our country who won’t have much to do over the holiday with the Coronavirus preventing social gatherings. The cards thanked the veterans for their service and wished them a happy Valentine’s day. These holiday cards were a great way to show gratitude towards the veterans for their service while simultaneously maintaining everyone’s safety. The veterans also received their favorite snacks to enjoy along with the cards. The veterans were very appreciative and grateful for what they had received and SkillsUSA was happy to help and show patriotism to the veterans and the United States of America. This is not the only time the SkillsUSA group at Bergen County Academies will be supporting our veterans to continue to show their patriotism.
