William J. Younie, 84, Traveled To All 7 Continents, Died Monday

Younie was a lifelong photographer.

PARAMUS, NJ — William J. Younie, 84, of Paramus died Monday.

He was a former professor at Fordham University, Columbia University and William Paterson University, his obituary states.

He earned a bachelor's degree from Boston Teachers' College, a master's in education from Tufts University and a doctorate of education from Columbia University.

He traveled to all seven continents with his wife and was a lifelong photographer and an avid woodcarver and oil painter, the obituary states.

He was predeceased by his wife Anne, sister Catherine Warren; daughter Anne, son John; grandchildren Phillip, Dustin, Emily, Andrew and Katie and great grandchildren William and James.

A funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of the Visitation R.C. Church, 234 North Fairview Ave., Paramus. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The ARC of Bergen and Passaic, 223 Moore St., Hackensack, NJ 07601.
