Clergy And Government Come Together To Discuss Heroin Epidemic September 28 In Parsippany

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office to host its third Clergy Community Outreach Program on September 28.

Government and clergy will be putting their heads together on Wednesday, September 28, for Morris County's third Clergy Community Outreach Program.

The Morris County Prosecutor's office announced the event, which will be on the heroin and opiate epidemic that the community is facing. The closed event will have an expected audience of clergy from various faiths, government officials, and law enforcement officials from Morris County. The guest speakers will include the New Jersey State Assemblyman Anthony M. Bucco, who serves Legislative District 25 in Morris and Somerset counties, and Assemblyman Joseph A. Lagana, who serves Legislative District 38 in Bergen and Passaic counties.

Assemblyman Lagana recently introduced a comprehensive legislative package to help combat the ongoing opioid and heroin crisis in New Jersey. He will be discussing his package after opening remarks.

“Clergy and government officials provide an excellent conduit to channel vital information reaching large segments of the population. It is encouraging to see their desire to partner with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office in a joint effort to educate the community about the heroin and opiate epidemic,” said Prosecutor Knapp.

The program will be held at the Morris County Public Safety Training Academy, 500 West Hanover Avenue in Parsippany, NJ from 9 AM to 12 PM. The event is not open to the public but a report on the presentation will follow.
