Aug-Weiss Inc is planning to build a 64,000 square foot metal stamping factory and warehouse on wetlands next to a residential area in Denville. A Department of Environmental Protection report had stated that no further development should occur on the wetland because of the impact on flooding. We, the residents of Denville and Parsippany feel that how exceptions and permissions were granted for this development merit investigation by responsible journalists.
The metal stamping industry is one which produces a high volume of metal components with a multitude of applications ranging from automotive manufacturing to electronics and much more. This industry has a number of factories in the Garden State, but none in an area a mere few feet from residences. Weiss-Aug will soon call Denville home if we don’t stop them! The town of Denville, known as ‘The Hub of Morris County’ is home to many residents who will soon have Weiss-Aug among them.
The proposed construction will uproot several acres of trees important to the privacy of homes, an area which was protected as wetlands and is ecologically the home of many animals while being an important water catchment area of a large part of the flood-prone zones of Denville.

A 64,000 square foot building about 200 parking spots and 4 warehouse loading docks will increase flooding, noise and light pollution and harm the quality of life of a quiet neighborhood. It will not only harm us and our environment, but also our privacy and security. It will lead to more frequent floods and severe soil erosion, risking the stability of our homes and yards.
The Weiss-Aug factory-cum-warehouse will be accessed from Rt. 53 and Luger Rd which is just one traffic light away from Morris County School of Technology at Rt 53 and Fox Hill Rd. The factory will have two shifts – one starting at 7 AM and the next at 3 PM. These times coincide with the start and end of school hours.

Residents of Morris County have the option of sending their kids to Morris County School of Technology to pursue a career path of their choice but what happens to the safety and well-being of those children. There is no research on the impact of heavy car and truck traffic at these times on either Fox Hill Road, or Route 53, by the school. Finally, how can we guarantee the safety of our residents who live just a stone’s throw away from the proposed building if there is increased traffic at both ends of Fox Hill Road due to factory shifts of Weiss-Aug employees, school buses and local residents?
We, residents of Parsippany-Denville, are appealing to our neighboring towns in hopes of preserving the safety of our neighborhood which can ultimately produce unforeseen consequences in our future.
