MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Things haven't always been easy for Bayou. This sweet little pup suffers from chronic dry eye and poor vision, and survived being shot by a pellet gun. Now, the pup just wants to go home.

Tri-Boro Animal Welfare says Bayou, who is about 6-years-old and 15 pounds was shot in the leg with the pellet gun, leaving pellet fragments inside his leg. Those have since been removed by a veterinarian, and the incision is healing well. Thankfully, he does not have residual injuries, the rescue says.

Bayou also isn't slowed down by his vision problems, and is crate trained.

"He is a sweet guy who is great with people and other dogs," the rescue says. He will be housed in foster starting this weekend, but still needs a forever home. Anyone interested in making Bayou part of their family should contact Tri-Boro Animal Rescue at triboroanimal@gmail.com.
