Downed Wires, Cancelations As Elsa Moves Through Parsippany
Park Road is closed between Hennion Drive and Ellen Street due to a downed tree.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — At least one road closed, and some programs got canceled as Tropical Storm Elsa moved through Parsippany.
Park Road closed between Hennion Drive and Ellen Street because of a downed tree and utility wires, police said Friday morning.
Additionally, All Day Playground at Smith Park and Half Day Playground at Veterans Park got canceled Friday, the township said.

Parsippany remains under a flood watch until noon Friday. Here's the upcoming forecast, according to the National Weather Service:
- Friday: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 3pm and 5pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5pm. High near 85. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Friday night: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers between 11pm and 2am. Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
- Saturday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm. Patchy fog before 7am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 84. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
- Saturday night: A slight chance of showers before 9pm, then a slight chance of showers after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
