DRUG FREE SCHOOL ZONES; HOW ABOUT LITTER FREE? School Propertie.
Most School zones everywhere, are in a state of substandard condition encouraging an unacceptable norm that has existed too long already
This was sent today to Local and State officials. Our Nation has become a trash dump, and nobody cares, not even the Boards of Education.. Irony is we move all of this waste from one place to another, but there is a place for it. More Plastic Bans and Enforcements or consequences if not what are our tax dollars bringing in return besides a job and a paycheck? This letter could be warranted in many places of Educational Domains.

Municipal Property/ 540 Green Pond Road/Katherine Malone School
The Property of the Municipal Parking Area and Recycling Center is in a state of disgrace. Litter especially in the form of hundreds of plastic bags, and plastic packaging is being allowed to infect the surrounding common spaces. My hike in the Wildcat Ridge Management domain revealed areas behind the two above mentioned Municipal Properties with large amounts of plastics bags and airbag packaging blown into the State Lands. An inspection along the fence boundary clearly shows the cause of the pollution. Apparently no discipline or supervision exist in the workforce here. The fact that an Elementary School and it's students are exposed to these conditions is disturbing, and enforces an unacceptable norm.

The pictures cannot demonstrate the magnitude of the offense; nor the spread of the pollution, some windblown trash reached as far as the yellow/black trail known as Odin Ladder. The Property requires a major police and and instilled discipline in the workforce and supervision. Like Drug Free School Zones, we also need and should have litter free school zones. As a senior citizen still paying BOE taxes, i find it insulting that my dollars are being used for BOE employees to collect a paycheck with no sense of real organic responsibility or caring for the interest they are entrusted to.

When I saw what Quebec does, I was ashamed for our country. Not a scrap of waste on the ground! Each night, trash cans were emptied, any stray refuse picked up. The best? All streets (and sidewalks ?) were washed down by sweeper/washer trucks!
