DWI Checkpoint Announced For Thanksgiving Weekend In Parsippany
Thanksgiving weekend can be a big time for partying, and the local police department will be keeping an eye out for drunk drivers.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — The Morris County Prosecutor's Office will be holding a Thanksgiving weekend DWI checkpoint in Parsippany.
Officials did not give and exact date or location for the checkpoint, just that it would be sometime over the holiday weekend within the township. It is typical not to release that information.
The checkpoint will be conducted by the prosecutor's office and the Parsippany police department. Checkpoints are funded by grants awarded by the State Division of Highway Traffic Safety.

"Thanksgiving Eve" is one of the biggest drinking night of the year, primarily driven by young adults who have scattered to different towns returning home for the weekend and reuniting at the local bar. All of that partying tends to lead to a one-day spike in drunk driving arrests and crashes, according to MADD.
