Funeral Service Details Announced For Judge Edward Gannon
Boonton Twp. native died four days after sustaining head injury after fall.

BOONTON, N.J. – When he wasn’t upholding the law, Edward Gannon was giving back to the community and his family.
The Boonton Township native and Superior Court judge died after injuries sustained in a fall at the age of 63.
His Honor earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from King’s College in Wilkes Barre and a Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University. He was appointed to the bench in 1991 after a successful law practice and given tenure in 1998.

Gannon was an Eagle Scout with Rockaway Valley Troop 69 for many years and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed adventurous activities like bobsledding, skeet shooting, hiking, snowshoeing, and was a proud member of the Gannon Brothers DPU Bobsledding Team.

Gannon is survived by his sons, Michael and Rory; his mother; two brothers; a sister; his best friend, Mary Ellen Gannon, and a loving extended family.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue in Boonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 910 Birch Street, Boonton.
