Help Morris Co. Prosecutor Solve Fatal Christmas Eve Hit-And Run

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ - Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance to solve a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian on Christmas Eve.

According to the Morris County Prosecutor's Officer, the crash occurred on Route 46 East between Schumacher Chevrolet and Elm Street in Denville shortly before 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

A 54-year-old male was fatally struck by a vehicle, which then fled the scene.

The pedestrian, who is not being identified by police, was located on the shoulder of Route 46 East. Critically injured, he was transported to Saint Clare’s Denville Hospital and pronounced dead, authorities said.

Numerous law enforcement agencies are currently investigating this incident, including the Denville Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
