Lake Hiawatha-Based Girl Scouts Assist the Market Street Mission

Girl Scout Troop 96197 Performs Community Outreach Service

While January can be a cold month,Girl Scout Troop 96197 did its best to warm the hearts and hands of our community by collecting cold weather clothing and personal hygiene products to benefit the Market Street Mission in Morristown.

The collection took place at Lake Hiawatha School, in Parsippany. The school community rose to the occasion and generously contributed to the month-long drive. The donation ultimately included 6 large bags of men's, women's and children's coats, hats, scarves, gloves and socks. The group also gathered toiletries, including: soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant.

Troop 96197 is led by Tara Voto and Angela Franz. Girl Scouts include: Claire Benjamin, Sara Deodhar, Jenna Franz, Alexandria Fritschie, Anisha Mulinti, Isabella Parada and Elaina Voto. The girls carefully organized the donations, including folding and sorting the clothing items, as shown in the pictures.
