NEW JERSEY – Snow squalls and 40-mph winds could cause problems for New Jersey drivers on Wednesday morning after the National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook.

The National Weather Service said flurries and snow showers will move through this morning and there could also be a few locally heavier squalls throughout the state.

This could result in slippery conditions, significantly reduced visibilities, and a quick coating of snow, the NWS said.

Gusty winds of 30 to 40 mph may occur during the afternoon and night. Tree damage and power outages remain possible where ice accumulations remain.

The push of colder air in the wake of the stronger clipper storm will help set the stage for trouble with wintry precipitation in a large area of the Midwest and Northeast as a bigger storm is expected to approach late in the week and early next week, according to AccuWeather.
