NJ Weather: Winter Storm Possible Next Week
Winter weather is possible next week in New Jersey. Here's the latest forecast and timing.

NEW JERSEY — A hazardous weather outlook was issued in New Jersey now that winter weather is possible early next week.
Forecasters say they are currently watching a system that could bring accumulating snow to the region Monday night into Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Service has issued a statewide hazardous weather outlook for the system, saying a wintry mix mostly of snow and sleet is possible late Monday into Tuesday.

That agency has not issued accumulation predictions, but The Weather Channel is forecasting 3 to 5 inches for New Jersey.
Forecasters with The Weather Channel and the National Weather Service say it's still too early to know specifics about the storm's track and timing.

But the National Weather Service says the 3- to 5-inch prediction is possible, but only in areas north of I-195.
Increasing confidence that the low will track just south of our region (close to scenario 2 we talked about in yesterday's post). But, it will be close enough to our area that many could see a wintry mix. Precip type remains one of the more uncertain aspects with this pic.twitter.com/53jte5llPs

AccuWeather also said there are several scenarios that could pan out depending on conditions closer to the time of the storm's arrival.
A difference in temperature of only a couple of degrees at critical levels of the atmosphere can mean the difference between an all-out heavy snowstorm and a storm that may bring a moderate amount of snow, ice and even plain rain, according to AccuWeather.

The storm is likely to produce substantial delays on the highways and lead to airline delays and flight cancellations even if some of the major hubs in Northeast manage to dodge wintry precipitation from one or both systems, AccuWeather says.
