Parsippany Flutist Honored For Talent At Mayo PAC

A Parsippany middle schooler was among several honored by the Mayo Performing Arts Center as an October Music Student Of The Month for being an outstanding wind instrumentalist.

Akshitha Srinivasan, an eighth grader at Brooklawn Middle School, was honored on stage before the Oct. 20 concert at Mayo PAC. All the students were nominated by their teachers and chosen by Mayo PAC's education department. At the end of the year, all honored students will be invited to perform in a recital.

Here is what Joseph Stella had to say about Akshitha:

Akshitha is a very fine flutist from Brooklawn Middle School. She has also learned to play the alto saxophone for the BMS jazz band. Aside from her musical talent, Akshitha is also a very pleasant, polite and respectful student.
