Parsippany To Hold In-Person 4th Of July Celebration, Fireworks
The festivities will mark Parsippany's first in-person, public event on municipal grounds since March 2020.
Correction: The event will take place at Parsippany Hills High School.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — It's been two years in the making, but Parsippany will hold a Fourth of July celebration and fireworks display. The festivities will mark the township's first in-person, public event on municipal grounds since March 2020.
Parsippany feels confident in holding the event because of local and statewide decreases in coronavirus cases and transmission, along with tolerable risk level for outdoor events. Attendees should continue to practice social distancing, mask wearing and good hygiene, the township says.

“I’m thrilled about celebrating July Fourth in Parsippany once again,” said Mayor Michael Soriano. “Our residents deserve to share in the joy of being American, and taking part in our summer festivities. It’s been too long since we’ve been together, and I can’t wait to see everyone.”

Like much of the state, Parsippany canceled its Fourth of July celebrations last year because of COVID-19. But Gov. Phil Murphy will else outdoor gathering caps May 19, giving towns more flexibility for larger gatherings such as fireworks displays.
Masking and social-distancing regulations will remain though. New Jersey requires people to wear masks outdoors when social distancing is difficult.
