Parsippany Man Charged In Psychedelics Drug Ring: Prosecutor

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Parsippany man faces a laundry list of criminal charges for his alleged involvement in a psychedelics distribution ring in Morris County, the Roxbury Township Police Department said.

Alec Sampson, 22, from Parsippany, was charged alongside Thomas Romero, 24, from Budd Lake, following a three-month investigation into a drug distribution ring, police said. Sampson is accused of possessing and distributing a variety of drugs, including LSD, DMT, ketamine, MDA, ecstasy, and marijuana, while Romero is only charged in connection to the distribution of LSD.

About $7,000 in cash was also seized during the investigation, police said.

Sampson was charged with the following crimes:

• Possession of LSD with intent to distribute more than 100 mg
• Distribution of LSD, more than 100 mg
• Conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances, more than 100 mg
• Possession of LSD, DMT, ketamine, MDA, ecstasy and psilocybin mushrooms
• Possession of more than 5 grams of THC cartridges
• Possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent to distribute or manufacture controlled dangerous substances
• Possession of LSD, DMT, ketamine, MDA, ecstasy and psilocybin mushrooms with the intent to distribute
• Possession of marijuana hashish, specifically THC cartridges, with the intent to distribute
• Money laundering

Romero faces the following charges:

• Possession of LSD with intent to distribute more than 100 mg
• Distribution of LSD, more than 100 mg
• Conspiracy to distribute controlled dangerous substances
• Possession of LSD with intent to distribute less than 100 mg
• Distribution of LSD, less than 100 mg
• Possession of LSD
