Parsippany Police Change Protocols As Pandemic Resurges
Some of the protocols and services are being modified as New Jersey rides out the second wave.
PARSIPPANY, NJ - Due to the state of emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Parsippany Police Department has modified some protocols and services.
- Effective immediately police are asking that except for emergencies, residents should not come into the police department to file a complaint. Call 973-263-4300 first so they can screen the complaint.
- Urgent/emergency calls for service will still trigger an officer to respond under most circumstances, however callers will be asked a series of questions to determine if precautions are needed to protect officers and other first responders.
- The 911 system will remain fully operational.
- Requests for copies of reports should be made by emailing records@parpolice.com
- All fingerprinting services provided by the department have been suspended until further notice.
- Firearm applications are only accepted online.
- Responses will be delayed due to a backlog and modified schedules.
- Discovery and OPRA requests will still be processed, however they may be delayed.
These protocols and services may change at a moment's notice, police said.
