PARSIPPANY, NJ — It may not be as exciting as sitting in your favorite restaurant without worry, but Parsippany will soon take a step toward reopening. Officials will reopen Town Hall and municipal buildings on May 24 to the public.

The township closed Town Hall and its municipal buildings to the public because of the coronavirus, only allowing those with appointments. But the reopening of municipal buildings comes in response to the state's upcoming removal of many capacity restrictions.

New Jersey will lift most capacity limits May 19. People in indoor, public facilities will need to continue wearing masks and maintaining 6 feet between individuals and groups. Read more: NJ To End Most Capacity Restrictions May 19

“I’m happy to welcome residents back to our buildings,” said Mayor Michael Soriano. “It’s been a long time coming. We’re 14 months into this pandemic, so we all know the drill. With the help of our residents continuing to be safe and smart, this is a major step in getting our township, our business, and our community back to normal.”
