Parsippany Swears In Five New Part-Time Police Officers
Four fall under the SLEO II category while the fifth is an SLEO III.

PARSIPPANY, NJ - The Parsippany Police Department is bolstering its ranks by adding six new part-time officers to the roster.
Last week Sgt. Bob Jamieson, Officer Daisy Negron, Officer George Petersen and Officer Michael Ruggier were sworn in as Special law Enforcement officer, Class II.
SLEO II officers are a part-time member of the Police Department. They will generally be required to work court security and provide essential public safety and law enforcement services for the department. Class Two Special Police Officers are authorized to exercise full police powers and duties similar to those of a permanent, regularly appointed full-time police officer. A Class 2 Police Officer is required to complete a Police Training Commission approved Class 2 Police Academy.

Officer John Palardy was sworn in as an SLEO III for Parsippany. A Class Three SLEO must be a retired law enforcement officer, less than 65 years of age, who previously served as a fully-trained, full-time police officer in New Jersey.
