Police Log: Heroin, Burglaries, And Outstanding Warrants Among Mid-August Complaints In Parsippany
Parsippany police are investigating the burglaries of two homes in August.

Two home burglaries are among police cases and arrests made over the last two weeks in Parsippany:
Aug. 8: Possession of Heroin
At about 6:57 PM, Detective John Keiling stopped a 2010 Toyota Yaris on Baldwin Road for a broken taillight and a seatbelt violation. According to police reports, officers found 5 clear baggies of suspected Heroin and other empty drug-laced baggies, as well as one lorazepam pill, on the front seat passenger, a 23-year-old from Parsippany. The driver was arrested, processed, and charged with Possession of a Controlled and Dangerous Substance, Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. His bail was set at $12,500.

Aug. 10: Burglary of a residence
Parsippany police responded to a 911 call about a burglary at about 5:32 PM. The owners of a home on Hennion Drive returned from a vacation on August 10 to find their house had been broken into at some point in the preceding week, according to reports. The burglary is thought to have occurred between August 4 and August 10. Police officers checked the house for the unknown suspect but the suspect(s) had already left. According to their report, the suspect(s) had most likely entered through a rear window, which authorities found had been shattered. Parsippany Police are still investigation the case so anyone with information is asked to call the Investigative Division at 973-263-4311.

Aug. 15: Outstanding warrant
At about 3:08 AM on August 15, two patrol officers observed a 1997 Nissan Maxima speeding north on North Beverwyck Road. They stopped the vehicle on Grace Road. While investigating the identity of the occupants in the car, police discovered that the rear passenger, a 26-year-old male from Paterson, NJ, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Riverdale Municipal Court, with a bail amount of $500.00. According to the police, he also had marijuana on his person. That individual was arrested and processed and then released on his own recognizance after receiving a new court date by Riverdale Police Department and being issued a summons for Possession of 50 grams or less of Marijuana.
Aug. 15: Burglary of a residence
At about 12:57 PM, the Parsippany Police Department received a call about a burglary on Woodcrest Road. Multiple officers responded to the scene. They checked the residence for the unknown suspect. What they found was a shattered window, most likely the point of entry, at the rear door. The victim reported some jewelry had been stolen from a jewelry box located in a bedroom. Police are still investigating the incident. They ask that anyone with information call the Parsippany Investigative Division at 973-263-4311.
Aug. 15: Burglary of a vehicle
At about 2:06 PM, Parsippany Police received a call about a theft on Brook Court. Patrol officers reported that the victim had left her 2015 Mercedes Benz 350 unlocked in her driveway overnight. An unknown suspect had opened the car and stolen some money. The case remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Parsippany Investigative Division at 973-263-4311.
Aug. 15: Shoplifting
Shoplifter(s) hit Harmon Beauty Supply at 3189 Route 46 again, according to police reports. At 6:57 PM, Parsippany police received a call about a theft at the beauty supply. While reviewing security footage, police officers observed two black males and one black female working together at just before 6 PM to shoplift multiple products from the store. The footage showed numerous items being stolen and concealed in a backpack that one of the male suspects was wearing. This incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Parsippany Investigative Division at 973-263-4311.
Aug. 15: Drug possession
At about 10:26 PM, Patrol Officer R. Appel and J. Hughes observed 2006 Chrysler 300 with tinted front and side windows and conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area North Beverwyck Road and Longview Avenue. After a brief investigation the Officers placed the driver, a 21-year-old male from Parsippany, under arrest for Possession of 50 grams or less of Marijuana. The driver was transported back to Parsippany Police Headquarters were he was issued a summons for Possession of 50 grams or less of Marijuana and released on his own recognizance pending his court date.
