Rebuttal To Jigesh Patel. Shenanigans? OPEN LETTER TO J. PATEL
How selective lack of memory is attempted during election times. How soon we forget. Attempting to fabricate what actually happened.
Rebuttal To Jigesh Patel. Shenanigans?
Letter appeared in Focus April 23rd 2021..
This LTE author is misleading the public. Anyone can join the Green Team; and it was not the Mayor's initiation. It was Matt Kavanaugh. Mayor Soriano has been trying to bring awareness to residents in their responsibility toward clean communities for some time now. He has gotten us into Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act Conformance; long overdue; and rejected by the last administration all based on untruths and deliberate misinformation propagated by the last administrations attorney and no due diligence by any officials at the time.

I hear nothing in this LTE about how the last administration raved about rateables yet used the water/sewer surplus; and the $4 Million swindle for an open space buffer at Waterview, all taken from local open space funds as State and County wanted nothing to do with, what appeared to be a kickback to RD developer; who by the way was Voted No Rezone by a mass grassroots movement only to be betrayed by the former attorney with the former administrators blessings..
Shall we throw in the UPS PILOT Deal to a billion dollar clear profit corporation; apparently our tax rateables from our overdeveloped landscapes so good we could give UPS a gift from the Parsippany Tax Payers.

What does need to be done in enforcements of businesses that do not keep their immediate spaces respectable toward the community, and residents that still fail to comply to source separation/recycle and cleaning up their streets. Don't Blame a Mayor for the society's overall irresponsibility.
As far as the water bill; it was the Republican Council not the Mayor that voted for this. The Mayor's suggestion was a meager tax hike of an average of $4.32 per household the collective cumulative amounts would of covered the needed failing water infrastructure. The Needed funds were used to Shenanigan the budget by the last administration, as if the water infrastructure would never needed repairs of upgrades. The tax instead of the fee increase would've allowed seniors to have the increase returned through the tax freeze.
You have revealed in your letter, a flaw in yourself and others who seem to think environmental issues should not be used as political issues; that Mother Earth under corporate freedom and closed door decisions has been allowed to become a trash dump and something put off on us and not them in costs and degradation of our communities that an outcome is lesser than an intention, even after the outcome has shown itself to be a crime against environment, an environment that has no right to life, as the profit motive supersedes all. That is the shenanigan of crime, an unacceptable norm sanctioned by apathy.
Shenanigans Yes, and You miss the boat on your letter. How conveniently some forget and ignore what took place before this administration and the republican obstacles remain on Council. Suggest you look up what your local form of government is; Mayor Council; and pay more attention to what is truly happening. Mayor Soriano is a great improvement.
Mr.Jigesh Patel you are way off base, and most likely of the opposite party priorities of business over the community. You have your chamber of commerce. For those who care for more than just themselves the choice is clear.
