Seven New COVID-19 Cases Reported In PTHSD Schools This Week
A total of 61 cases now have been reported in three and a half weeks.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — Through Tuesday, the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District had reported seven new COVID-19 cases this week on its PTHSD COVID-19 Dashboard. That meant a total of 61 new cases had been reported at PTHSD schools since students returned to in-person classes from an extended holiday hiatus on Jan. 19.
Of the cases reported this week, three were at Parsippany High School, one at Parsippany Hills High School, one at Central Middle School, one at Lake Hiawatha Elementary School and one at Troy Hills Elementary School. According to the district, cases represent those reported by parents, staff and the Department of Health directly to the district.
Last week, Feb. 1 to Feb. 7, 25 new COVID-19 cases were reported within the PTHSD. It was the highest weekly total since students returned to in-person learning in 2021. For the week of Jan. 18, there were 13 reported COVID-19 cases within the district, while 16 new cases were reported on the week of Jan. 25.

All classes in the PTHSD were conducted virtually during the first two weeks of 2021. Since then, students have alternated weeks in the building depending on their placement in Cohort A or Cohort B.
