Woman’s Club February General Meeting Features Guest Speaker

The next General Meeting of the Woman’s Club of Parsippany-Troy Hills is on February 22 at 7p.m. via Zoom. Attendees are encouraged to wear red in support of Heart Health Month. Our featured guest speaker is, Pam Gumns, who is Free The Girls Director of Strategic Partnerships. Free The Girls provides economic empowerment to survivors of sex trafficking. She will be speaking about the organization and how we can help. For more information go to https://freethegirls.org.
WCPTH brings together the women of Parsippany and neighboring towns for fellowship and service. As our Mission Statement expresses: The CLUB shall study and take appropriate action in any endeavors which have for their objectives the educational, cultural and civic betterment of the community and work in harmony with the New Jersey State Federation of Women’s Clubs and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.”
In addition to supporting the many of the “typical” projects we do each year ( i.e. High school scholarships, *8th Grade Citizenship Awards, 5th Grade Reading Awards, Dr. Seuss Read Across America, New Eyes for the Needy, Vial of Life distribution, Adopt a Classroom at Head Start of Morris County, Operation Christmas Stocking, JBWS Back to School gift card collection, clipping coupons for Troopons, Wreaths Across America, Holiday cookie/candy distribution to local nursing homes, supporting the NJSFWC State Special Project Operation Chillout for homeless veterans to name just a few) this pandemic year our members working together (practicing safe social distancing) have made over 400 masks and 827 ear savers to distribute to local doctor’s offices, Town Hall, the Parsippany Library and other medical facilities in the area. Donations to support COVID relief efforts were given to Morristown Medical Center, Feed the Frontline, Atlantic Health Supporting Our Heroes, The Parsippany Volunteer Ambulance Squad and The Rockaway Neck First Aid Squad to name a few. Individual club members were extremely generous with their donations of non-perishable items, gift cards and money to the Parsippany Emergency Food Pantry.
