Accident on Cherry Valley Road Sends One to Hospital

The accident happened around 11 a.m. on Friday.

A head-on collision on Cherry Valley Road sent one person to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries on Friday, according to Princeton Police.

It was around 11 a.m. when emergency crews received a report of a head-on collision in the 500 block of Cherry Valley Road. The driver of one of the vehicles was trapped inside.

A investigation revealed that Mary Bowers, 50, of Hopewell, was driving a Dodge Neon east on Cherry Valley when she crossed into the oncoming lane while negotiating a series of curves. Her vehicle struck a Toyota Sienna driven by Veronica Sigu, 40, of Princeton.

Bowers was extricated from her vehicle by Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad and transported to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro for treatment of non-life threatening injuries to her head and legs.

Sigu refused medical attention at the scene.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene, and a portion of Cherry Valley Road was closed for approximately 90 minutes.

An investigation continues.
