UPDATE On Gas Leak Reported In Palmer Square, Princeton
Police asked residents to avoid the area of Palmer Square and Witherspoon Street Thursday.

PRINCETON, NJ - The Princeton Fire Department, Station 60 was dispatched to Palmer Square on reports of a gas leak on Thursday evening.
According to the fire department, the gas main was struck by contractors which caused the leak.
Upon arriving at Palmer Square, the fire department upgraded the incident to the first alarm. Many employees at commercial properties were evacuated.

The utility company finally secured the gas line and the buildings were ventilated.
