Now in its sixth year of operation, Bentley Community Services (BCS) a designated 501 (c) 3 charitable organization, has been helping families in financial crisis regain self-sufficiency by providing a full range of high quality grocery provisions and more each week, supplementing income and offsetting grocery bills. Bentley has distributed over 1,377,326 lbs. to date. As the main grocer, Bentley creates access to healthy foods, facilitating healthy diets and nutrition so families benefit weekly from full shopping carts, feeding their families healthy and nutritious foods from the major food groups and more. The crucial monies that families save are applied toward paying their monthly bills and expenses, reducing debt, medical bills or making needed repairs as these families work toward financial stability and security. Bentley also offers educational and informational workshops throughout the year facilitated by professionals.

BCS operated for two years and then outgrew its origins in Belle Mead and is now located in Monmouth Junction where it serves clientele families that come from the entire Central New Jersey region of communities. They typically do not receive assistance so Bentley is a vital community connection for them to receive help. Families shop weekly and maintain decision making based on their families weekly needs, shopping from a full range of fresh vegetables and fruits, dairy products, high quality breads/desserts, salads, meats, poultry, seafood, numerous fresh and frozen products, non-perishable household pantry items and more. Each week families pack up full shopping carts for their families of provisions, picked up by BCS from numerous grocers, restaurants, farms, distributors, wholesalers and even a food harvest program with Princeton University. These high quality, surplus foods would otherwise end up in the landfill. Provisions are sorted and checked by our volunteers to be distributed each week into the households that certainly could use them.

BCS is an alternative food bank/pantry, servicing the entire Central New Jersey region of communities. specifically addressing the needs of families, individuals and seniors who, though perhaps employed, do not receive traditional assistances and are challenged making ends meet. If you are struggling to make ends meets or know of a family who is, please refer them to BCS. There are also volunteer opportunities available. The warehouse distribution facility is located at 4064 US- 1 North in Monmouth Junction.
