BMW Stolen, 2 Vehicles Burglarized In Princeton

Three bikes were also reportedly stolen, according to the Princeton Police blotter.

PRINCETON, NJ — One vehicle was reportedly stolen vehicle and two more were burglarized this past weekend in Princeton.

On July 25 at 11:18 a.m., Newark Police said that a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run collision on in their town was suspected to be stolen from Princeton, police said.

The owner of the 2018 BMW in question was advised and reported that the vehicle had been stolen without their knowledge. It was last seen in their driveway on Foulet Drive at 11 p.m. on July 24 when they parked it. The vehicle was impounded in Newark. No suspects this time, police said.

Two more vehicles were burglarized on July 24.

Two victims reported that sometime between 2 and 3:25 p.m. on July 24, someone entered their locked vehicle, which was parked in the Turning Basin Park lot in the 400 block of Alexander Street, and stole their wallets from the glove compartment. The total value of the stolen items is $244.06.

Another victim reported that sometime between 2 and 7 p.m. on July 24, someone entered their unlocked vehicle, which was parked in the lot for Springdale Golf Club, and stole their wallet. The contents of the wallet were valued at $110. The victim's credit cards were then used at a local CVS, Best Buy, and Walmart for charges totaling over $2,300.

Other Princeton Police blotter items:

On July 22 at 9:35 a.m.: The victim reported that their gray/green Giant mountain bike, valued at $350, was stolen from a bike shed on Hun School property on Edgerstoune Road. Surveillance footage revealed that on July 13 at 11:55 p.m., an unknown man stole two bicycles from the bike shed before leaving the area. The man is described as 25 to 30 years old, white or Hispanic, wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, a black hat with a brown brim, and a dark backpack.

On July 23 at 9:20 a.m.: A 600 block of Ewing Street reported that sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. on July 23, an unknown person stole their unsecured bicycle from the side of their house. The bike is described as a red and black Mens 21-speed Benotto Hobbe valued at $180.

On July 27 at 12:41 p.m.: A store owner in the 100 block of Nassau Street reported that on July 26 at 7:49 p.m., someone stole $1,558.81 worth of various items from their store. The man was shown on surveillance video stealing the items. The suspect is described as a Black man with a heavy build, wearing a blue shirt and beige pants. The suspect’s face is obscured by a mask.

On July 27 at 4:54 p.m.: A Wescott Road resident reported that someone opened a Sprint account in their name on May 23, 2019 and has accrued $8,896.42 worth of charges. The victim was unaware for over a year until a collection agency sent them a notice.
