The Princeton Festival: This week marks the beginning of the 17th season of The Princeton Festival. Performances begin Friday, at 7 p.m., with the Concordia Chamber Players presenting a musical performance in a variety of moods and styles. Filmed especially for the Festival in Sand City, CA, the concert includes a rarely played instrumental elegy by opera composer Giacomo Puccini, the Italian Serenade of Hugo Wolf, and works by Jean Françaix, Arthur Honegger, and contemporary composer Jessie Montgomery. Tickets for individual events are available at www.princetonfestival.org or by phone at 609-759-1979. Season tickets are also available at a discount of over 40 percent. All streams will be available through the end of June.

International Piano Competition Finals, Saturday: The Princeton Festival will stream live performances from this year's virtual piano competition. Contestants this year are ages 6 and above and hail from across the country and around the world. Winners in each category, plus an overall winner, will be announced at the end of the program. Pop-Up Kids Used Book Sale, Princeton Shopping Center: A special two-day pop-up children’s book sale is scheduled for June 5 and 6. The free event is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. next to the Bagel Nook. You'll find over 6,000 gently used books for babies, tweens, and teens. Masks are required and visits are limited to 30 minutes.

Outdoor Concert By Moroccan Sheepherders, Palmer Square: This Sunday, enjoy a free outdoor performance in the heart of Princeton. The McCarter Concerts in the Square is for residents and visitors, with no tickets required. Enjoy the music of Moroccan Sheepherders this Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Don’t forget to pack a chair or blanket.

Princeton Community Pride Picnic, Princeton YMCA Field: Celebrate the local LGBTQIA+ community with music, art, and activities. Princeton is organizing the Pride Picnic this Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees can participate in making a collaborative community mural among other activities. There will be food trucks and vendors. Mayor Mark Freda and other leaders will be in attendance.
