Princeton Alum Chad Kanoff Joins Arizona Cardinals Football Team
Kanoff is one of 24 undrafted players to join the Cardinals following last week's draft.

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton University quarterback who was named the Ivy League’s Offensive Player of the Year for the 2017 season is now an Arizona Cardinal.
Chad Kanoff is one of 24 undrafted players who has signed with the Arizona Cardinals following last week's draft, azcardinals.com reports. Kanoff will have to pass a physical before he gets his contract. The Cardinals hold their rookie mini-camp May 11-13.
Kanoff was the only quarterback on that list of undrafted players. However, in the first round of last week’s draft, the Cardinals did trade up to select highly touted UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen.

Kanoff and Rosen joined a quarterback group that already includes Sam Bradford, Mike Glennon, Alex Torgerson and Brad Doughty. Arizona was 8-8 last season, finished third in the NFC West and didn’t qualify for the playoffs.
Kanoff joins Caraun Reid and Seth DeValve as Princeton University players currently in the NFL. Reid is with the Indianapolis Colts, and DeValve is with the Cleveland Browns.

"We are thrilled for Chad in his next step of his football journey," Princeton football coach Bob Surace told goprincetontigers.com. "He is going to a tremendous organization that spent a lot of time with him during the offseason, and I believe it's a terrific fit. I'm confident he will make the most of this opportunity and I know he is excited to get started."
Last season, Kanoff became the third Tiger to be named Offensive Player of the Year in the past five years, joining Quinn Epperly (2013) and John Lovett (2017). He is the fifth Tiger to earn Player of the Year since the award was divided into Offensive and Defensive in 2011. Kanoff is the 11th Princeton athlete to receive the Bushnell Cup.
Kanoff led the Ivy League's top offense, breaking the all-time single-season passing record with 3,474 yards. The previous mark was 3,412, set in 2011 by Cornell's Jeff Mathews. He also broke the Ivy League single-season completion percentage of 73.2, breaking the mark held by current Dallas Cowboys head coach and former Princeton Bushnell Cup winner Jason Garrett.
Kanoff's 284 completions in 2017 is now the single-season record for Princeton. It is also the third best in Ivy League history. He also set the Tigers record with 29 passing touchdowns, matching the second-most in a single season in Ivy history. He also tied the Ivy League record with three 400-yard passing games and eight 300-yard passing games in a single season.
