Princeton-Based NRG Moving Headquarters To Houston, Texas
NRG Energy said Houston will be their 'sole headquarters,' as most of their employees and customers live in Texas.

PRINCETON, NJ — NRG Energy announced Thursday it was moving its headquarters from Princeton to Houston, Texas.
In a media release, the company said that the move “simplifies” its business operations, as many employees and customers live in Texas.
"Houston, TX has been a second headquarters for NRG for many years, serving as home to our largest retail brand and many of our employees," the company said in a media statement.

“Today, we are officially designating Houston as NRG’s sole Corporate Headquarters, a step that simplifies our operations,”
The company headquarters is currently located at 804 Carnegie Center, Princeton.

NRG said this move was part of their "strategic plan for some time and with the Direct Energy acquisition, this is a key milestone in advancing our integration.”
The company said it will continue to maintain its regional offices and the Princeton office will "remain a significant operations hub" for employees.
"Because our regional offices will be maintained, there will be no relocation requirements for employees at this time," a company spokesperson said.
