Princeton FreeB Bus Service To Remain Suspended
The FreeB Bus Service will remain suspended in Princeton, as authorities evaluate the risk of COVID-19 to passengers and operators.
PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Transit Authority has decided to continue with the suspension of the FreeB Bus Service, as it re-evaluates the risk of COVID-19 to passengers and operators. The decision was made on recommendation by public health professionals, who are monitoring the spread of the Coronavirus in the county. The suspension first came into effect in March, 2020.
In a message posted on the township website August 10, 2020, authorities said resuming the service can only happen “in accordance with state-mandated guidance for public transportation.” Authorities are looking to further enhance safety protocols since those who primarily use the service are most vulnerable to COVID-19. “Our primary concern is the safety of the riders and its operator,” said authorities.
Meanwhile, the Princeton Health Department and the Princeton Board of Health are closely monitoring the increase in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks.
