Princeton Human Services Hosting Annual School Supplies Drive

The drive will benefit children from low-income families attending Princeton Public Schools.

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Human Services Department will be hosting its 12th Annual Backpack and School Supplies Drive.

The drive will benefit Princeton children from low-income families in need of school supplies and new backpacks.

Donations can be dropped off at the Princeton Human Services office on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is located in the former borough hall at One Monument Drive. The deadline for donations is Friday, Aug. 6.

For the past 11 years, the Princeton Human Services Commission, municipal employees, local businesses, organizations and residents have donated book bags and school supplies that have benefited over 150 Princeton children.

The items are distributed to children attending Princeton Public Schools and are entering kindergarten through sixth grade.

Donations of book bags or school supplies or both are accepted. Items that can be donated also include notebooks, binders, folders, loose-leaf paper, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, scissors, glue sticks, and other school supplies.
