Science teacher Jim Smirk has been honored with a University of Chicago Outstanding Educator.

Science teacher Jim Smirk has been honored with a University of Chicago Outstanding Educator. Charlotte Gilmore, a former student and PHS graduate who was recently accepted to the University of Chicago, nominated him for the honor.

"Charlotte Gilmore has selected to honor our colleague, Jim Smirk, as an educator who went above and beyond everyday teaching and left an impression that is carried over a lifetime," said Mridula Bajaj, Supervisor of Science, Professional Development, Testing and Assessment.

Mrs. Bajaj congratulated Mr. Smirk on the "well-deserved" honor and praised him for his professionalism and dedication toward his profession and his students.
