Princeton Soup And Sandwich Brings Meals To Hospital Workers
A GoFundMe has been set up to continue to support these workers at Princeton Medical Center amid the coronavirus outbreak.
PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton Soup and Sandwich has come up with a way to support local business and give back to the hospital workers serving on the front line amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Through donations collected on a GoFundMe site the Princeton eatery at 30 Palmer Square E. is putting together bagged lunches that come with a full signature cold sandwich, house side salad, piece of fruit and chocolate chip cookie to donate to workers at Princeton Medical Center.
The idea for the bagged meals came about when Lisa Ruddy, owner of Princeton Soup and Sandwich, was asked to deliver 100 donated lunches on behalf of Palmer Square and Nassau Inn to emergency room workers.

"Seeing the workers so grateful inspired us," Ruddy said. "They are the ones doing the hard work. They are the real heroes in my opinion."
Ruddy wants to keep the love going and is continuing to collect donations to bring more lunches to the hospital next week. Ruddy’s daughter Alexandra started a GoFundMe for donations to be collected.
For every $15 one boxed lunch is able to be donated. However, Ruddy said they will accept any donation amount. The GoFundMe has already raised more than $2,100 in one day.
Additionally with each donation Alexandra has created custom tags to be placed on each lunch meal that are personalized with the donor’s name.
The donations also help Ruddy and her daughter to keep their 16 year long business afloat during the outbreak.
"It gives us some purpose and something to keep busy and motivated during this time," Ruddy said.
