PRINCETON, NJ – The coronavirus pandemic has presented many challenges to local businesses this year. In Princeton, many went above and beyond to serve their customers and maintain the highest standards of service.
When Patch asked Princetonians to nominate their favorite for Business of the Year, many votes came in for Princeton Soup & Sandwich Company.
This tiny, family-run store has been serving the community since 2005. Located at 30 Palmer Square, Princeton Soup & Sandwich Company, is firmly rooted in the community, and even during the pandemic, they remained open, with all precautions in place.

Customer raved about the restaurant's quality of service. Their commitment to safety - everyone wearing PPE and sanitizers inside and outside the restaurant – was much appreciated.
“They have managed to provide the same high-quality food and service throughout the pandemic,” said Eric Puchon, a customer. But what won him over was the business’ commitment to support healthcare workers and first responders.

“They did a great job raising funds to be able to provide meals to our essential healthcare workers and our first responders. It is a family-owned business that continues to be a valued partner to the Princeton community,” he said.
“Loved their hospital work for nurses and doctors! Absolutely wonderful people. They deserve this over anyone,” a customer named Charlie told Patch.
The restaurant serves over 50 varieties of soups, and has a large selection of gluten free, vegetarian, vegan, low fat and dairy free varieties of sandwiches.
Customer Carrie Callahan called it the "the epitome of friendly, fresh and fast.”
She also praised Alexandra Ruddy, partner and general manager. “Alex Ruddy works so hard to keep the menu full of variety and never predictable. This family-run business truly makes me feel like I am at home,” said Callahan.
While many restaurants pivoted to the curbside pickup and delivery model during the pandemic, Princeton Soup & Sandwiches went a step further and did hospital deliveries.
“Best customer service, easy pickup and curbside (delivery)… and they did hospital bagged lunch deliveries all throughout COVID,” a customer named Lucille told Patch.
