PRINCETON, NJ — A 15-year-old teen from Canada has been arrested in Louisiana for making a false bomb threat to Princeton University last fall, according to a report.

A May 3 hearing is scheduled to decide whether the teen should be sent to New Jersey to face charges, reported NJ.com.

The teen, who hasn’t been named since he’s a juvenile, was arrested at his grandparents’ house in South Vacherie, a rural community between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, according to a report from The Advocate.

The teen is being held in Mississippi because St. James Parish does not have a juvenile detention center.

The monthslong investigation included Regional Enforcement Allied Computer Team in California, the United States Secret Service, the FBI joint terrorism task force, a parish sheriff’s office in Louisiana, and Edmonton city police in Canada, said a report from Saskatoon StarPhoenix.

Princeton University police signed a juvenile petition for the teen’s arrest, NJ.com said.

The incident happened in September last year, when Princeton University evacuated part of its campus after receiving a bomb threat.

The bomb threat was received for the Art Museum, Firestone Library, Nassau Hall, and the Chapel.

The Department of Public Safety issued an evacuation order for those buildings.

Students, faculty and staff were told to collect personal items, including car keys, and to leave their door unlocked and open to allow the area to be inspected. They were also told to go to their building's designated evacuation assembly area.
