4th of July Celebrations: Fireworks! Lots of them, along with food, music, and fun for the family. Independence Day is just around the corner and many county towns have celebrations in store. After being canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fireworks are back this year. Patch has a list of firework displays that you can check out. Click here for details.

L.E.A.D Fest State Fair, Mercer County Park: L.E.A.D (Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence) Fest State Fair, which is New Jersey's agricultural fair, will be held between July 1 to 11 at the Mercer County Park in West Windsor. The admission fee is $5 on weekdays and $8 on weekends and holidays. The agricultural exhibition includes farm animal displays, racing pigs, lots of food, and craft vendors. Did we mention fireworks? As part of the fair, fireworks are planned for Independence Day. On July 3 and 4, Mercer County residents can enter the fair for free after 6 p.m. to watch fireworks. Independence Day Celebrations, Etra Park Lake, East Windsor: Enjoy a fun weekend with the family with lots of food, music, and games. East Windsor is celebrating Independence Day on July 4, 5 p.m. onwards at Etra Park Lake. There will be craft-making, balloon artists, a live interactive magic show and music by Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band. There will be no fireworks display at the event. Happy Hours at the Boathouse, West Windsor: (THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO THUNDERSTORM WARNING) What's better than enjoying some food and drinks by the lake. Mercer County Park Commission and Landmark Catering will be holding Happy Hours at The Boathouse on Thursdays, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Specialty food and drink will be available, along with live music, pontoon boat tours for $4 (weather permitting, and no alcoholic drinks allowed on the boat) and views of Mercer Lake from the grounds. Located at 334 South Post Road, West Windsor, seating in the Boathouse and throughout the grounds is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Happy Hour will end on Thursday, Sept. 2 for the season.
Kayak Nature Tours, Mercer County Park Marina: Enjoy a morning of paddling and exploring during a naturalist-led Kayak Tour on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Life vest, binoculars, and kayak rental fee included. Basic kayak instruction is provided, weather permitting. Social distancing is required, masks optional. Click here to register. In-county residents pay $30 per person, and fee for out-of-county residents is $35 per person.
Summer Music Series, Palmer Square: On Saturday, enjoy a free outdoor performance in the heart of Princeton. The Outcrops will be performing from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on the Green. Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy an afternoon in the sun.
