What's Open And Closed For Thanksgiving In Mercer County?

Thanksgiving is Thursday. Here's what's open and closed in Mercer County.

Most Mercer County offices and facilities will be closed Thursday, Nov. 23, and Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, for Thanksgiving, although some will remain open or have modified hours.

The following County offices will be closed both days and will reopen for business on Monday, Nov. 27:
  • McDade Administration Building, 640 South Broad St.;
  • Criminal Courthouse, 400 South Warren St.;
  • Office of the Mercer County Clerk, 240 West State St.; and
  • Civil Courthouse and Office of the County Surrogate, 175 South Broad St.

The county’s LIHEAP program will be closed both Thursday and Friday and will reopen for business on Monday. County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton, will be closed both days and will reopen for business on Saturday, Nov. 25.

All branches of the Mercer County Library System will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. However, the Ewing, Hickory Corner, Lawrence and West Windsor branches will be open on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. All branches return to normal hours on Saturday and Sunday.

The following county offices and facilities will remain open: Trenton-Mercer Airport (except for administrative offices), Correction Center, Sheriff’s Office and the Emergency Services Communication Center.

Holiday hours for Park Commission facilities are as follows:
  • Mercer County Tennis Center will be open Thanksgiving Day from 7:30 a.m. to noon and will have regular hours, 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Friday. Outdoor courts are open, weather permitting;
  • Mercer County Skating Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day but will be open Friday, with skate sessions 10 a.m. to noon, 1 to 3 p.m., 4 to 6 p.m., and 7:45 to 10 p.m.;
  • Mountain View Golf Course will be open Thanksgiving Day with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and closed the rest of the day. It will be open Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.;
  • Mercer Oaks (West and East courses) and Princeton Country Club will be open Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and open Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Park Commission will hold its eighth annual “Golf Gift Card Doorbuster Sale” on Black Friday. Customers who purchase $100 in gift cards will receive an additional $20. A maximum of $500 in gift cards can be purchased. Gift cards can be purchased in person at Mountain View and Mercer Oaks, or online at www.golfmercercounty.com;
  • The Equestrian Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day but will have regular hours, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Friday;
  • The Wildlife Center will be open both Thanksgiving Day and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.;
  • Howell Living History Farm will be closed both Thanksgiving Day and Friday, but will reopen with hayrides and wreath and sleigh bell sales on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and
  • The Tulpehaking Nature Center will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday but will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
