Winberie's Announces Temporary Closing Date For Renovations

During the renovation, employees will not be paid and instead be temporarily laid off to allow them to collect unemployment.

PRINCETON, NJ — Winberie's Restaurant & Bar in Princeton has announced a temporary closing date to begin renovations.

The restaurant will close on Feb. 9 for several weeks with plans of reopening sometime in March, Select Restaurants, Inc., parent company of Winberie’s, announced.

“For more than 35 years, residents, visitors, university students and their families have enjoyed the uniqueness of Winberie’s,” said Todd Sheppard, spokesperson for Select Restaurants, Inc. “The upcoming temporary closing will allow construction crews to give the restaurant a new look. When Winberie’s opens again in March, our guests can expect the same quality of menu choices and service in an updated atmosphere that will provide a new experience for dining and socializing.”

All current employees are expected to return when the restaurant reopens. An announcement about that date will be made about two weeks prior to completion of the renovations.

Gift cards for Winberie’s Restaurant & Bar will be honored when the restaurant resumes business after the remodel.

The Winberie’s Summit location will remain open during the Princeton location's renovations.
